A 63-year-old Barrie man has died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle in the city’s south end.
Officers were called to the intersection of Big Bay Point Road and Hurst Drive at about 4:15 p.m. on Friday, June 19th. The crash involved a motorcycle and a car.
Witnesses at the scene immediately began providing first aid to the motorcyclist, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car remained at the location and did not suffer serious injuries.
Members of the Barrie Police Traffic Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, and frontline patrol officers attended the scene to investigate. Roads in the area were closed for several hours before reopening at around 8:35 p.m.
