
Team T&J’s Kids Jumpin’ Jamboree!
The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library is inviting residents of all ages to take part in a variety of reading programs, performances and community events throughout the summer.
The library’s summer programming includes the return of the TD Summer Reading Club, family entertainment, outdoor storytimes, community events and opportunities for residents to provide feedback on the library’s future. It runs until August 29th, encouraging children to track their reading throughout the summer for a chance to win prizes. Participants can pick up a reading notebook at the library or register online.
Several special events are also planned, including:
- Team T&J’s Kids Jumpin’ Jamboree at the Lakeshore Branch on Friday, July 11th, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The interactive live concert is open to all ages. Admission is $3 per person and registration is required.
- Mermaid Storytime featuring Mermaid Andrina and AntOctopus at the Town Square Splash Pad on Friday, July 17th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The program includes stories, songs and activities focused on aquatic wildlife. Admission is $2 per person and registration is required.
- The Stroud Community Picnic on Saturday, July 25th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Stroud Foodland parking lot, 8056 Yonge St. Hosted in partnership with Stroud Foodland, the free event will feature face painting, a balloon artist, library activities and hot dogs available with a donation to the Innisfil Food Bank.
The library will also host travelling storytimes in parks across Innisfil through ideaLAB on the Go, along with weekly Splashpad Storytimes in Cookstown and Lakeshore.
Residents can also explore a Story Walk along the Innisfil Rotary Trail featuring Colette: The Solitary Bee by Jean-François Sénéchal, illustrated by Pascale Bonenfant. Available in both English and French, the self-guided story follows a solitary bee who discovers the value of helping others and building community.
In addition to summer programming, the library is asking residents to help shape its next Strategic Plan by completing an online survey before July 17th. Participants will be entered into a draw to win one of three prizes, including a pair of Apple AirPods.
