The Town of New Tecumseth is inviting residents and visitors to the grand reopening of the Sir Frederick Banting Homestead & Heritage Park in Alliston next week.
The celebration will take place on Tuesday, July 14th at the historic site, located at 5116 Sir Frederick Banting Road, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Guided tours of the property will be available until 3:30 p.m.
“This is an exciting step forward for our community,” says Mayor Richard Norcross. “The Banting Homestead tells an important story, and we’re proud to help ensure it remains open, welcoming, and part of our community for years to come.”
The Town says the reopening has been made possible through its ongoing partnership with the Sir Frederick Banting Legacy Foundation, which has worked to preserve the site and its history.
Residents are invited to attend the event, tour the homestead, and learn more about the legacy of Sir Frederick Banting and the future of the heritage property.
