Join the IOOF Seniors Homes at the 2026 Young at Heart Charity Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, August 22, 2026 benefiting our long-term care residents and seniors in our community.
The community is invited to take part in the 2026 Young at Heart Charity Motorcycle Ride next month.
The event is happening on Saturday, August 22nd, with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Barrie Harley-Davidson. Riders will travel a scenic country route before returning to the IOOF Seniors Homes for a barbecue lunch with residents and families, live entertainment, raffle prizes, games, and more.
Registration is $50 per rider. Proceeds will support the redevelopment and expansion of IOOF Seniors Homes in Barrie.
Last year’s event raised more than $27,000 toward the long-term care home’s redevelopment project. Construction is now underway on a major expansion that will add 64 new and 66 upgraded long-term care beds, creating a modern 226-bed facility. The project will be completed in two phases, with the first residents expected to move into the new addition in spring 2028, followed by the completion of the second phase in early 2029.
The Young at Heart Ride was established in 2005 and has supported IOOF residents for more than two decades. Organizers say the event has become a favourite among residents, who enjoy welcoming riders and seeing the motorcycles each year.
