The victim, also a youth, was found by officers with “several lacerations” following an altercation in the area of 20th Sideroad and Benson Street, say police.
The incident was reported to police around 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 23.
Officers provided medical assistance to the victim until paramedics arrived.
The youth was taken to hospital and remains in stable condition, added police.
The suspect later turned themselves into police and has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with an undertaking.
It’s believed, added police, that the stabbing was “an isolated incident” and there is no concern for public safety.
