Two Barrie men face a slew of charges in connection with an incident that occurred on Aug. 22.
An officer on patrol recognized a man who was prohibited from driving in the driver’s seat of a car in the Bradford and Tiffin Streets intersection, said Barrie police.
Police stopped the vehicle and while speaking with the driver noticed a plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance in the centre cup holder. The driver and three passengers were asked to exit the vehicle and placed under arrest on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
Officers say they located a large quantity of identity documents belonging to other people. Officers seized two prohibited knives.
A Barrie man, 46, is charged with operation while prohibited, possession of an identity document, fail to comply with release order, fail to comply with probation order and theft of a motor vehicle.
A Barrie man, 42, is charged with two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of break-in instruments, two counts of possession of an identity document, possession property obtained by crime under $5,000, four counts of possession of a credit card, theft of a motor vehicle, trespass at night and fail to comply with probation order.
