The reopening of the Stroud Innisfil Community Centre is being delayed after additional issues were discovered during restoration work.
The Town of Innisfil says the original restoration project is progressing on schedule and within its approved budget. However, as parts of the building were opened up for more detailed investigation, crews identified several conditions requiring additional work.
Those issues include HVAC modifications needed for code compliance, mould remediation and insulation replacement in the arena-side ceiling, as well as further engineering assessments of pitting found on structural beams.
The additional work will extend the arena closure beyond the previously targeted November 2026 reopening. Staff are continuing to assess the cost and timeline, with another update expected at a Council meeting in September.
Arena ice users will continue to be accommodated at the Town’s other two arenas through January 18th, while the current target reopening date for the Stroud Banquet Hall remains February 15th.
The Town says it will continue providing updates as the restoration work progresses.
