Bradford West Gwillimbury is receiving up to $94.8 million in funding from the governments of Ontario and Canada to support housing and infrastructure growth.
The money is being provided through the Development Charge Reduction Program, recognizing the Town’s commitment to reducing development charges by between 30% and 76% on new residential units built between March 30th, 2026, and March 31st, 2029.
Mayor James Leduc says the investment will help fund infrastructure such as water, roads and fire services while also lowering costs for homebuyers.
The development charge reductions could lower the cost of building a new home by up to $36,500. When combined with provincial and federal HST relief on new homes, the Town says families in BWG could save as much as $166,000.
The funding is intended to help support the infrastructure needs of a growing community while making new housing more affordable.
