A 50-year-old Barrie man is facing multiple criminal charges following a human trafficking investigation..
Barrie Police say they received information in June that Michael Brocklebank was allegedly recruiting females to provide sexual services for an escort service operating out of his residence. Investigators subsequently identified online advertisements for sexual services that were linked to the accused.
On August 12th, officers executed a search warrant in connection with the investigation at an address in Springwater Township.
Brocklebank was arrested without incident in Mississauga on Sunday, August 30th.
As a result of the investigation, Brocklebank is facing the following charges:
- Trafficking in persons
- Material benefit from trafficking in persons
- Material benefit from sexual services
- Procuring – exercise control, direction or influence
- Advertising sexual services
- Assault
- Fail to comply with probation order
Police believe there may be additional victims.
