Six people are facing charges after a South Simcoe Police investigation into a break and enter in Innisfil led to the recovery of stolen property and suspected drugs.
Officers responded to a reported break and enter at an Innisfil residence on Monday, August 31st, after the victim reported that an unknown person had entered their garage and stolen several tools and other items.
Through the investigation, officers identified individuals believed to be involved. On Wednesday, September 2nd, at around 8:25 a.m., members of the South Simcoe Police Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Unit attended a residence on Innisfil Beach Road to execute a search warrant.
They recovered property believed to have been stolen during the break and enter, along with approximately 35.74 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and 27.51 grams of suspected cocaine. Officers also located items indicative of drug trafficking.
Five individuals were arrested and charged with a total of 20 Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act offences, while a warrant was issued for a sixth individual.
A 34-year-old Innisfil man is facing:
- Break and enter a place with intent to commit an indictable offence, contrary to Section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Trafficking in stolen goods under $5,000, contrary to Section 355.2 of the Criminal Code
- Possession of Schedule I substance – cocaine, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession of Schedule I substance – methamphetamine, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Theft under $5,000, contrary to Section 334(b) of the Criminal Code
The accused was released on an undertaking and subsequently transported to Barrie Police Service in relation to outstanding warrants.
A 32-year-old Innisfil man is facing:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of Schedule I substance – methamphetamine, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule I substance, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
The accused was held for a bail hearing and provided with a future court date.
A 40-year-old Barrie man is facing:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of Schedule I substance – cocaine, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Obstruction, contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code
A warrant has been issued for the accused.
A 31-year-old Innisfil woman is facing:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of Schedule I substance – cocaine, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession of Schedule I substance – methamphetamine, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
The accused was released on an undertaking and provided with a future court date.
A 31-year-old Innisfil woman is facing:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of Schedule I substance – methamphetamine, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
