Residents and visitors around Canadian Forces Base Borden may notice an increased presence of police and emergency response vehicles this week as the base conducts a training exercise.
CFB Borden will conduct a limited simulation exercise on Tuesday, September 15th, based on an active aggressor response scenario. The exercise is intended to validate the base’s emergency response plans, assess its ability to respond to threats against personnel and infrastructure, and strengthen coordination with local first responder agencies.
Police personnel and vehicles from the Barrie Police Service, South Simcoe Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police may be seen on the base and within the surrounding community. Simcoe County Paramedic Services personnel and vehicles may also be present.
CFB Borden says the exercise is strictly for training purposes and that at no time will the safety or security of base personnel or the public be at risk.
The training scenarios are designed to maintain a high level of preparedness and support the safety of the Defence community and area residents.
