A Barrie man is facing multiple charges after police say officers observed suspected drug transactions.
Officers arrested the man on Tuesday, September 8th near Maple Avenue. During the arrest, they located a significant quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and crystal methamphetamine. Police also seized roughly $4,300 in Canadian currency and an expandable baton.
Several pieces of identification belonging to other individuals were also located. Police say the identification had previously been reported stolen from vehicles.
As a result of the investigation, the 36-year-old faces the following charges:
- Trafficking in a Schedule I substance — opioid
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — opioid
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Theft under $5,000 — two counts
- Carry concealed prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
