A 10-year-old child is in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Innisfil.
South Simcoe Police responded to the collision at around 4:35 p.m. on Monday, September 14th, at Webster Boulevard and Rankin Way.
Police say the child was riding a bicycle when they were struck by a black Nissan Rogue exiting a parking lot. The collision caused the child to become trapped underneath the vehicle, which continued travelling a short distance before coming to a stop.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the child was transported by air ambulance to a trauma centre with serious injuries. Police say the child is currently in stable condition.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, and police say no further information is currently available.
