Bradford West Gwillimbury is inviting residents to help keep the community clean and welcoming as part of the return of Community Clean-up Week.
The annual initiative runs from Monday, October 5th to Sunday, October 11th, giving residents, families, schools, businesses and community groups an opportunity to remove litter from local parks, trails, streets and neighbourhoods.
Residents can participate at their convenience by picking up a Clean-up Kit and collecting litter in their neighbourhoods throughout the week.
“Community Clean-up Week is a great opportunity for residents to come together and take pride in the place we call home,” says Mayor James Leduc. “Whether you’re cleaning up a local park, trail or your own neighbourhood, every effort makes a difference. I encourage residents, families, businesses and community groups to get involved, lend a hand and help keep BWG clean, safe and welcoming for everyone.”
Clean-up Kits include garbage bags, gloves, hand sanitizer, instructions and safety tips. No registration is required, and kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Kits can be picked up at the BWG Leisure Centre, located at 471 West Park Avenue, starting Wednesday, September 30th. They will be available during regular facility hours, Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to clean up public parks, greenspaces and trails throughout BWG during the week. The Town is also encouraging participants to share before-and-after photos or videos on social media by tagging @townofBWG and using the hashtag #BWGCommunityCleanUp.
