Five non-profit organizations in Simcoe-Grey are receiving a combined $413,200 in provincial funding to improve community spaces, equipment and access to local programs.
Brian Saunderson, Member of Provincial Parliament for Simcoe-Grey, announced the funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Capital grant stream.
“Strong communities depend on local organizations that bring people together, create opportunities and provide critical supports close to home,” says MPP Saunderson. “This important provincial investment will help five recipients across Simcoe-Grey improve their facilities and access the equipment they need to better serve our communities. I want to congratulate and thank their staff, volunteers and supporters for the meaningful work they do every day to make a difference in the lives of others.”
The organizations receiving funding are:
- Beeton Lawn Bowling Club
- E3 Community Services Inc.
- The Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay
- CLASS
- Camphill Communities Ontario
The OTF Capital grant stream supports infrastructure improvements for non-profit organizations, including equipment purchases, new spaces, renovations, retrofits and repairs.
Zee Hamid, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, says the funding will help organizations continue providing programs and services in their communities.
“Non-profit organizations across Ontario are delivering critical programming that helps people train for new careers, stay active, learn new skills and connect with their communities,” says Hamid. “Our investment will help modernize and improve the spaces these organizations rely on so they can continue delivering the services that strengthen communities and drive local economic growth.”
The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. Since 2018, the Ontario government says it has invested more than $887 million in more than 8,000 projects across the province.
