Maintenance work on the Beeton Municipal Drain is set to begin next week as the Town of New Tecumseth works to improve water flow in the area.
The project involves removing built-up sediment from the drain near Centre Street North. Crews will access the site from the south end of Second Street and remove the excavated material for off-site disposal.
Work will start on Monday, October 5th, weather permitting, with crews working Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
During working hours, one lane of traffic will remain open, while two lanes will be available outside of construction hours. Safe pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project.
Temporary interruptions to driveway access may occur. Residents affected by closures will be notified by the contractor, who will work to minimize disruptions and arrange alternate parking when necessary.
Residents and motorists should expect temporary delays, increased construction activity, and noise while the maintenance work is underway.
It’s expected to wrap up by Friday, October 23rd.
