Georgian College is expanding its program offerings with five new programs beginning in 2027-28.
Among the new offerings is Medical Radiation Technology, a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program designed to prepare students for careers as diagnostic imaging professionals.
The full-time program begins in fall 2027 and will be delivered in person at Georgian’s Barrie Campus. Through classroom instruction, simulation-based learning and three clinical placements, students will develop skills in radiological sciences, quality imaging procedures and compassionate patient care.
“Georgian’s new programs will create more opportunities for students to build practical skills and pursue meaningful careers while helping respond to changing workforce needs,” says Sheila West, Vice President, Academic. “They give prospective students more choices to find a program that reflects their interests, experience and career goals.”
Four other programs are launching in 2027, including three two-year Ontario College Diplomas:
- Applied Artificial Intelligence
- Cybersecurity Technician
- Game – Art and Animation
Applied Artificial Intelligence students will learn to collect and analyze data, design and deploy AI solutions, and apply machine learning and generative AI to real-world challenges.
The Cybersecurity Technician program will focus on cloud security, ethical hacking, digital forensics and incident response through hands-on learning and a capstone project.
Game – Art and Animation will teach students to create characters and digital worlds through game art, animation and visual effects while building a professional portfolio using real-time production workflows.
The fifth new offering is the one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Fundraising Management. Delivered online, the program will focus on fundraising, donor engagement, resource development, and campaign planning through real-world projects.
Georgian says the expanded offerings are intended to provide options for students at different stages of their education, including those beginning postsecondary studies, building on previous learning or developing specialized expertise.
