Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot Angus will host a week-long explosive ordnance disposal exercise this week.
Exercise Cunning Pine 2026 runs from Monday, October 5th to Friday, October 9th and is a collaborative Explosive Ordnance Disposal exercise involving local police forces and Borden EOD responders.
On Monday, multiple controlled explosions of various sizes are scheduled for approximately 2:00 p.m. Two smaller controlled explosions are planned for the early afternoon on Tuesday to Thursday.
On Friday, the OPP will be on site at Division X, with officers in police cruisers responding to mock EOD scenarios around the base.
All scenarios will involve inert items at designated locations on the base, with training signs placed around them.
The Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces say public safety and security will not be in jeopardy during the exercise.
