Barrie Police are seeking witnesses and dash camera footage after a road rage incident involving an SUV driver and a motorcyclist in the city this month.
It happened at around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 18th, near Essa Road and Mapleview Drive West. A grey Audi SUV was travelling northbound on Essa Road when it approached a slow-moving motorcycle.
The SUV driver honked before eventually passing the motorcycle. As the SUV approached Mapleview Drive West, the motorcyclist pulled alongside the driver’s window and assaulted the driver, according to police.
The 46-year-old male driver was not physically injured. He then turned right onto Mapleview Drive West, with the motorcycle following. Police say another interaction occurred at the intersection of Mapleview Drive West and Hollyholme Farm Road.
The motorcyclist was wearing a black full-face helmet, a dark leather jacket and jeans. The motorcycle was described as a retro-style bike with a yellow and black gas tank and a long, narrow emblem.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash camera footage showing the interaction to contact the lead investigator by email at jminke@barriepolice.ca.
