With Halloween festivities now behind us, members of the OPP are reminding parents and guardians to take a few moments to inspect their children’s Halloween candy before it is consumed.
While Halloween is a fun and exciting time for families, parents are encouraged to carefully examine all treats collected during trick-or-treating. Look for any items that appear opened, tampered with, damaged, homemade from unknown sources, or otherwise suspicious in nature.
Although incidents involving tampered Halloween candy are rare, taking a few extra minutes to review collected treats can provide peace of mind and help keep children safe.
