The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) is inviting students in Grades JK to 12 to submit artwork for its annual Christmas card contest.
These Christmas cards are shared with colleagues, education partners across Ontario and public figures, including the Cardinal, Premier and Prime Minister.
For the first time, the top five student designs will also be turned into a pack of cards available for purchase. All proceeds will support the board’s Hope for Learning Foundation, which helps students and families experiencing financial barriers.
Established in 2010, the foundation directs 100 per cent of funds raised back into schools to support student nutrition, health and well-being, social engagement and continued learning.
The contest is open to all SMCDSB students from junior kindergarten through Grade 12. Artwork can be created using any medium but must reflect the true meaning and spirit of Christmas and include a faith component.
Students can submit their work in one of three ways:
- Online: Complete the 2026 Christmas Card Artwork Google Form. A Google account is required.
- By email: Send high-resolution artwork to communications@smcdsb.on.ca.
- In person or by school courier: Deliver physical artwork to the Catholic Education Centre, attention: Communications Department.
Physical submissions must be labelled with the student’s name, grade and school.
The deadline for all submissions is Friday, November 27th, allowing the board time to digitize the selected designs and prepare the cards for purchase.
