Ontario’s new licence plates are available starting this month (Feb 2020).
Lisa Thompson is the Minister of Government and Consumer Services.
She told myFM if you just want a new licence plate, you can get one by visiting a ServiceOntario centre, but you won’t be able to keep your original licence plate number.
Thompson adds that if your plates are peeling or bubbling and you got them within the last five years, they will replace them free of charge.
Not only do the new plates look a lot different, they also have a change to the Ontario slogan from “Yours to Discover” to “A Place to Grow”.
“A Place To Grow” comes from the song ‘A Place to Stand’, which has been an unofficial anthem for Ontario since Expo 67.
