A longtime supporter of the community Rory and his wife Marlene have involved not only in the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital through his Coffee Rewards program and pledge of $50,000, but have also aided with initiatives and the Alliston Rotary and Lions Clubs.
Through McHappy Day, his locations have not only raised money for Ronald McDonald House, but also the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation
and Matthews House Hospice in Alliston, but also COPE Service Dogs and the Base Borden Family Resource Centre.
For his efforts, Rory MacKinnon became the first South Simcoe resident to be named an Honourary Colonel with the Royal Canadian Air Force Academy on the Base Borden.
Currently, Rory, through the Lions Club, is donating coffee and cookies to long term care homes in the area in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
