The town of Orangeville says it’s working hard to keep roads clear after the first snowfall of the season.
Here’s an update from town officials:
- We’ve begun plowing main roads, in particular near the schools. Once complete, we will then move on to residential streets within the subdivisions.
- Snowplows will work around the clock until all snow is plowed.
- Sidewalks will be started soon – but it will take some time before all sidewalks are finished. Please be patient with winter vehicles out working today and give them space on roads and sidewalks to do their job.
- The Town of Orangeville spent the summer building a new salt/sand dome which is in full operations today. This is estimated to hold enough salt/sand for the season.
- Parked cars on streets will need to be moved before plows can work on their street. We are reminding residents that after a snowfall event, street parking is temporarily suspended.
