
The Canadian subsidiary of the international cosmetics brand The Body Shop announced it will immediately begin liquidating almost a third of its stores.
Doors will remain open but online sales will stop.
The Body Shop currently has 105 stores open in Canada.
As part of the restructuring 33 of those will immediately begin liquidation sales.
The Body Shop Canada is seeking to restructure itself under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
The moves come weeks after company’s parent, The Body Shop International, filed for administration – a process that allows companies to restructure without paying off its debts – in
the U.K.
U.S. stores are also closing their doors.
