After Honda Canada’s announcement to pause its planned $15-billion electric vehicle project, Industry Minister Mélanie Joly said Honda remains fully committed to investing in Canada’s EV future.
She added that the federal government is also working to support sectors hit by trade uncertainty.
The delayed project – which included major investments in its Alliston manufacturing facility, was expected to bring about 1,000 new jobs and include a new battery plant and retooled assembly lines in Ontario.
