A Tottenham resident is among a group of suspects involved in a traffic stop-turned-gun seizure in Mississauga.
On Saturday, August 30th, officers investigated a vehicle and those inside near Mid Way Boulevard and Davand Drive for Cannabis related offences. During the investigation, officers located a loaded illegal Beretta handgun.
As a result, all four occupants of the car were arrested.
23-year-old Rashad Inoussa and 22-year-old Eric Obeng of Toronto, 27-year-old Peter Golding of Mississauga, and 24-year-old Ryan Osai of Tottenham all face the following Criminal Code Offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Knowing its Possession is Prohibited
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle – Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Have Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
At the time of the arrest, Osai was prohibited from possessing any firearms due to previous offences, and was also charged with Possession of Firearm, etc. Contrary to Order.
They were held pending a bail hearing.
