The Municipal Retirees Organization Ontario (MROO) has awarded $120,000 in student scholarships to outstanding students across the province, including two recipients from Simcoe County.
Madison Rensen of Angus, studying Social Work at Nipissing University, and Myles Odlozinski of Orillia, studying Health Sciences at Queen’s University, each received a $3,000 scholarship for the 2025–2026 academic year. The awards recognize leadership, volunteerism, and community involvement among family members of MROO members.
Zone 9, which includes Simcoe, Grey, Dufferin, Kawartha Lakes, and Muskoka, awarded three $3,000 scholarships totaling $9,000 to students in Orillia, Angus, and Bracebridge.
“Now in its 19th year, the MROO scholarship program is a part of MROO’s mandate to give back to our members and communities across Ontario,” says Cindy Snider, Director of Zone 9. “We are so happy to support these exceptional students.”
