The County of Simcoe is now accepting applications for the 2026 Experience Simcoe County Partnership Fund, with $400,000 set aside to support tourism-focused and culture-driven initiatives across the region.
County officials say the funding is aimed at attracting visitors while strengthening Simcoe County’s tourism ecosystem. Supported projects will focus on increasing awareness and access to local tourism, cultural and recreational offerings, fostering partnerships between municipalities and organizations, and encouraging innovative, inclusive and accessible visitor experiences.
Funding priorities also include initiatives that contribute to the local economy through tourism-related spending, align with the Experience Simcoe County strategic work plan, and enhance accessibility and engagement for older adults through active living, social connection and lifelong learning.
“Tourism and culture are vital to Simcoe County’s identity and economy,” says Simcoe County Warden Basil Clarke. “Through the Experience Simcoe County Partnership Fund, we’re proud to support creative, collaborative initiatives that showcase the best of our region, attract visitors, and strengthen our communities.”
Eligible organizations can apply for up to $10,000 for projects related to marketing, public art and beautification, trails and cycling infrastructure, and workforce development. Signage projects may request up to $20,000 in funding. Each organization may submit one application, with the deadline set for Friday, February 13th.
Applications will be reviewed by the County of Simcoe’s Grant Task Force, made up of appointed members of County Council and supported by county staff. Funding will be distributed based on how well projects meet program objectives and benefit the region as a whole.
