The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation is celebrating a major milestone in community fundraising, thanks to the continued support of a longtime local partner.
Trillium Ford Lincoln Ltd. has presented a $25,000 cheque to the Foundation, marking the latest installment in its $125,000 multi-year commitment to support Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s greatest needs. The cheque was presented by owner Eric Vant Spyker and his team at the dealership’s Alliston location.
The contribution comes at a pivotal time for the hospital as redevelopment plans move forward. With a building partner recently announced and construction preparations underway, the expansion project will more than double the size of the hospital, including tripling the Emergency Department and modernizing care for the growing community.
Vant Spyker said the dealership is honoured to support the Foundation’s vision of bringing an expanded Stevenson Memorial Hospital to the community, adding that support from customers and staff makes donations like this possible.
The partnership between Trillium Ford Lincoln and the Foundation dates back to 2018, when the dealership first supported medication dispensing technology in the hospital’s Emergency Department. This latest installment will help fund essential resources during the construction phase.
Dr. Ted Vandevis, CEO of the Foundation, said local business leaders like Team Trillium are critical to the success of the campaign, noting the dealership’s investment reflects a shared commitment to community well-being.
The donation supports the Foundation’s Because of YOU campaign, an $80-million fundraising effort to build the future of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. The project will expand emergency care, add advanced diagnostic imaging including the hospital’s first MRI suite, modernize inpatient facilities and enhance specialized surgical services.
As the hospital approaches its 100th anniversary in 2028, Foundation officials say the redevelopment represents a transformational step forward in meeting the region’s evolving health care needs.
