The Alliston Hornets got the brooms out of the weekend as they are now heading to the second round of the PJHL Playoffs.
Game three of the first round series against the Huntsville Otters was held on Friday, February 27th at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre. The Hornets were already up 2-0 in the series, outscoring the Otters 14-4 through those first two games.
The offence continued to show up as Adam McKillop and Gunner Kirk opened the scoring in the first period.
Will Hopcraft continued things in the second, along with Noah Prokopec scoring a pair of goals.
When the final buzzer went off, the Hornets had a 5-1 win to bring them one game away from advancing.
Game four of the series was then held on Sunday, March 1st at the Canada Summit Centre in Huntsville.
While the Otters managed to put up a fight, the Hornets would come out on top. Noah Larmon scored twice, and the Hornets got goals from Will Hopcraft, Duncan Grube, and Gunner Kirk to cap off a 5-3 win – good for the series sweep.
We now wait for the other match-ups to conclude before we know exactly who the Hornets will face in round two. We’ll keep you updated on when the schedule is released.
