The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is inviting student artists to take part in a special opportunity connected to its 2026 Retirement and Years of Service Celebration.
The board is commissioning one student to create an original piece of artwork that will honour its 2026 retirees. The artwork must include a faith element, reflect the spirit of the school board, and be suitable for professional printing.
The selected student artist will be recognized during the board’s Celebrating Excellence Evening on May 21st. The recipient will also receive an art supply kit to help complete the project, along with a framed print of their work and a certificate of appreciation co-signed by the Director of Education and Board Chair.

Students interested in applying must complete an online application form and submit at least one sample of their artwork by March 20th. A selection committee will choose the successful applicant in early April, and the selected student will have until mid-May to complete the final piece.
School officials say they are looking forward to seeing the creative talent of students across the board through the initiative.
