A $40,000 donation from the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will support the purchase of new medical equipment aimed at improving patient care.
The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation says the contribution will go toward a portable X-ray unit, allowing healthcare teams to perform imaging at the bedside without needing to move patients. The Auxiliary first pledged the donation during the Foundation’s Energy Experience gala on November 20th.
“This is a very important piece of equipment that allows, in some cases, for x-rays to be taken without moving the patient,” says Gary Munro, President of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
A portable X-ray unit provides flexibility for medical staff to conduct rapid, high-quality imaging, particularly for vulnerable or critically ill patients.
“The Auxiliary’s incredible generosity continues to make a profound impact on the daily lives of our patients and our entire hospital family,” says Dr. Ted Vandevis, Chief Executive Officer of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation. “By funding this portable X-ray unit, they are directly supporting the Because of YOU campaign and ensuring our medical teams have the agile, state-of-the-art tools they need to deliver high-quality care right at the bedside.”
The Auxiliary has supported the hospital through fundraising and service initiatives since 2001, contributing to the acquisition of medical equipment and patient care services. The donation also supports the Foundation’s Because of YOU campaign, which aims to raise $80 million to expand the hospital and enhance services, including emergency care, diagnostic imaging and surgical facilities.
