The Alliston Hornets have some work to do heading into next weekend.
They went into Game #2 of their series with the Stayner Siskins up 1-0 after a 6-1 win on the road.
Now hosting the Siskins for the second match-up, the Hornets were looking to take a demanding series lead.
It was a scoreless first period, with the Siskins leading the Hornets in the shots department: 15-6.
That puck possession continued in the second period, and it eventually led to some scoring. Stayner scored two unanswered goals in the second period, taking their 2-0 lead into the final frame.
The Siskins would pile on in the third period, scoring another goal just 11 seconds in. Tristen Pitt eventually got the Hornets on the board, but that goal was matched by the Siskins once again. With just 14 seconds left, Nick Lamont found the back of the net. That made the game a 4-2 loss for Alliston.
Riley Arts was in net for the Hornets. He stopped 38 of 42 shots, giving him a relatively respectable .904% save percentage and the loss.
Game #3 will see the action return to the Stayner Memorial Arena on Thursday, March 26th, with the game time scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
The Hornets will then host Game #4 on Friday, March 27th at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre. Game time is listed for 7:30 p.m. Ticket information can be found here.
