Parents and guardians in Simcoe County are being invited to take part in an upcoming virtual session focused on online safety and digital habits.
The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) says its Parent Involvement Committee is hosting “Safe Connections: Cyber Security and Digital Well-being” on Tuesday, April 28th at 6:00 p.m.
This session will feature a presentation from Natalie Fleming, who will discuss cyber security and identity theft, including how to recognize online risks, protect personal information, and spot signs of inappropriate online interactions involving children.
A second presentation by Ulrica Jobe will focus on helping families build healthy digital habits, set boundaries around technology use, and encourage open conversations about online safety.
Organizers say the session is designed to give parents practical tools to support their children in navigating today’s digital world, while also aligning with the board’s focus on well-being and community engagement.
Registration is open until Friday, April 24th at 4:00 p.m.
