Students from across Simcoe County are being recognized for their achievements in science and innovation following a recent regional competition.
The Simcoe County Regional Science and Technology Fair saw nearly 400 students submit close to 250 projects across five STEM categories, highlighting a wide range of research and creativity. Among them, five students from the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) in Grades 7 to 12 have been selected to represent the region at the Canada-Wide Science Fair, scheduled for May 23rd to 28th in Edmonton, Alberta.
SCDSB students also earned strong results at the regional level, collecting 31 honourable mentions, 18 bronze medals, 12 silver medals, and seven gold medals, along with 31 special awards sponsored by community partners. Projects ranged from environmental solutions and artificial intelligence to health sciences and theoretical models.
