The annual Smile Cookie campaign is back, as Tim Hortons celebrates the initiative’s 30th anniversary with a week-long fundraiser supporting communities across the country.
Starting today through May 3rd, 100% of proceeds from every Smile Cookie sold will go directly to nearly 700 local charities and community groups across Canada, selected by individual restaurant owners.
Tim Hortons locations in Cookstown and Thornton will be supporting Innisfil ideaLAB & Library and Essa Public Library.
The campaign has become a major fundraising effort since launching in 1996, raising more than $151 million across Canada and the United States. In 2025 alone, guests helped generate $22.6 million for local causes.
“The annual Smile Cookie campaign is a powerful reminder of what community truly means,” says Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons. “For the past 30 years, restaurant owners, team members, and guests have come together to create real change for people right in their own neighbourhoods.”
Smile Cookies are the brand’s chocolate chunk cookies, decorated with pink and blue icing to resemble a smiling face. Customers can purchase them in-store or through the Tim Hortons app, with bulk orders also available.
New this year, a four-in-one Smile Cookie plushie is also being sold, with net proceeds supporting local charities and community groups.
The campaign continues to be one of the largest grassroots fundraising efforts in the country, encouraging customers to support causes in their own communities with every purchase.
