A new long-term care home has officially opened in Stayner, bringing expanded capacity and modern amenities to seniors in the region.
The Ontario government announced the opening of the Stayner Care Centre, which adds 79 new beds and redevelops 49 others, for a total of 128 spaces. The home is operated by Jarlette Health Services and is designed to provide a more resident-focused environment with updated facilities.
Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson called the project a significant investment in local seniors, while Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care Natalia Kusendova-Bashta said the new home supports the province’s efforts to expand access to care and improve quality of life for residents.
The facility includes a range of features aimed at enhancing daily living, including a beauty salon, café, family dining spaces, wellness centre, lounges, and outdoor garden areas.
Officials say the project is part of the province’s broader plan to build and upgrade tens of thousands of long-term care beds, with more than 25,000 beds already completed, under construction, or approved across Ontario as of early 2026.
Clearview Township Mayor Doug Measures welcomed the new centre, noting its importance to the community and the continued partnership with the operator.
