The Town of New Tecumseth will host a special flag raising event in Alliston to recognize autism advocate and endurance athlete Adam McEachern as he makes a stop in the community during his province-wide journey.
The event takes place Tuesday, May 5th, from approximately 3:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Town Hall, where residents are invited to gather and celebrate McEachern’s efforts through the Autism Heroes Road Trip. The 989-kilometre initiative aims to raise awareness and funds for neurodiverse children and their families.
Mayor Richard Norcross says the event highlights the importance of building inclusive and supportive communities, while recognizing the dedication behind McEachern’s journey.
McEachern is a local resident and York Regional Police officer. His cross-Ontario run and ride began Thursday, April 30th and continues through May 17th, with proceeds supporting Kerry’s Place Autism Services, which provides services to thousands of individuals across the province.
The flag raising offers a chance for the community to come together, show support, and celebrate a cause focused on inclusion and awareness.
