The Town of New Tecumseth says an emergency access gate at MacKenzie Pioneer Road and Kindlers Road will soon be closed as construction progresses on Highway 89.
The gate had been temporarily opened to provide a detour for residents during the Ministry of Transportation Ontario widening project.
With construction on the south side of Highway 89 expected to wrap up by mid-May, crews will begin removing equipment and barrier walls from the area.
As a result, the emergency gate is scheduled to return to its normal, closed configuration after May 15th.
Town officials say directly impacted residents will receive notice, and stakeholders have already been informed.
