The South Simcoe Police Service is marking Police Week 2026 with two community open houses in Innisfil and Bradford.
Running until Saturday, May 16th, this year’s Police Week theme is “Protecting Ontario through Service,” recognizing the work police officers and civilian staff do to help keep communities safe.
As part of the celebrations, residents will have the opportunity to meet officers and civilian members, tour police facilities, and learn more about specialty units and policing equipment.
The open houses will feature police cruisers, a classic car, ATVs, motorcycles, dispatch demonstrations, and the service’s police dog, Nitro. Visitors will also be able to meet members of the Mounted Unit and take guided tours led by auxiliary officers.
“Strong communities are built through connection, collaboration and trust,” says Chief John Van Dyke. “We are grateful for the continued support of our community members and look forward to welcoming the public to our open houses to connect, engage and learn more about the work we do together each day to keep our communities safe.”
The North Division Open House takes place Wednesday, May 13th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 2137 Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil.
The South Division Open House will be held Thursday, May 14th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 81 Melbourne Drive in Bradford.
The events are free and open to the public.
