The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority says it remains in a strong financial position following its 2025 audit conducted by KPMG.
According to the authority, the audit found NVCA maintained healthy reserves and prudent financial controls while continuing to deliver watershed-based services such as flood and erosion risk management, environmental protection, and technical support for municipalities and residents.
NVCA says it spent the past year strengthening its financial foundation through operational improvements, increased staffing capacity to meet legislative responsibilities, and the launch of a new e-permitting platform aimed at improving service efficiency. Officials say the organization also maintained close oversight of spending while managing evolving service demands.
“In 2025, we made deliberate operational and organizational improvements while maintaining a strong focus on fiscal discipline,” says NVCA CAO Jennifer Vincent. “These achievements reflect careful planning, responsible use of resources, and a renewed commitment to timely, transparent, and responsive service.”
Board chair Jonathan Scott adds that the clean audit reflects the authority’s focus on accountability and fiscal responsibility as the province moves forward with plans to consolidate NVCA into the new Lake Huron Regional model.
NVCA’s full audit and financial statements are available through the authority’s here.
