Barrie Police are investigating after shots were fired at a home in the city’s east end last week.
Officers were called to the area of Hickling Trail at about 5:30 a.m. on Friday, May 8th, following reports of multiple gunshots.
Investigators located a vehicle in the driveway of a residence that had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported. Police say several shell casings were recovered from the area and members of the Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene to collect evidence.
While investigators note there is always concern when firearms are involved and not recovered, police believe the shooting was targeted. Officers are expected to remain in the area as the investigation continues and canvassing efforts are carried out.
Police are asking anyone who may have information, including video footage, or dash camera recordings from the area around the time of the incident to contact Sgt. Barnes at jbarnes@barriepolice.ca, or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
