The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is preparing to celebrate student creativity with its first-ever Festival of the Arts later this week.
The one-day event will take place Friday, May 22nd at the SCDSB Education Centre in Midhurst and will bring together students and staff from schools across the region.
Organizers say the festival will showcase dance, drama, music and visual arts while highlighting the role the arts play in supporting creativity, critical thinking and emotional expression in education. Elementary and secondary school students will participate in performances and hands-on workshops throughout the day.
Two public performance sessions are planned, running from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and again from 12:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Families and community members are invited to attend and experience the student performances and visual art displays.
