Three men are facing charges after an alleged attempted robbery connected to a private motorcycle sale in south Barrie.
Barrie Police say the incident happened on Thursday, May 7th, in the area of Mapleview Drive West and Essa Road.
Investigators say the victim had arranged to meet a potential buyer for his motorcycle. When the victim and a friend arrived at the agreed-upon location, police allege they were boxed in by suspects who attempted to remove them from their vehicle.
The victim managed to escape and drove directly to Barrie Police headquarters to report the incident.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Division later located the suspect vehicle as it attempted to enter the southbound Highway 400 ramp at Mapleview Drive.
A 25-year-old Barrie man, along with a 31-year-old and 35-year-old man from Brampton, were arrested and charged with attempted robbery.
Police are reminding residents to use caution during private sales transactions by meeting in public places during daylight hours, bringing another person along and remaining aware of their surroundings.
