A 43-year-old New Tecumseth resident is facing an impaired driving charge after police say a tow truck driver was reported to officers in Alliston.
According to Nottawasaga OPP, officers received a report shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9th, about a suspected impaired driver operating a tow truck on Victoria Street.
Police say officers quickly located the tow truck parked in a nearby lot and began an impaired driving investigation after speaking with the driver.
As a result, the accused has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Police say the individual was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Bradford court at a later date. Their driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days and the tow truck was impounded for seven days.
OPP are reminding motorists that impaired driving laws apply to all vehicle operators, regardless of the type of vehicle being driven.
