A 37-year-old New Tecumseth resident is facing multiple charges after OPP responded to reports of suspicious activity at homes in Essa Township.
Police say officers were called several times between 9:00 p.m. and midnight on Sunday, May 17th, after reports of a suspicious person attending residential properties and looking into windows before leaving the area.
Investigators say a later call reported an individual matching the same description attempted to kick in the door of a home, but was unable to gain entry. Officers later located and arrested the suspect without incident.
The accused has been charged with:
- Break and Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Trespassing at Night (x2)
- Mischief – Destroy or Damage Property
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
