The Town of New Tecumseth will host Women in Arboriculture Ontario (WAO) TreeFest 2026 this summer at the Tottenham Conservation Area.
The free one-day event is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th and will bring together women-identifying arborists and climbers for a day of outdoor learning, networking and skill development.
WAO TreeFest 2026 will feature tree climbing opportunities, live demonstrations, workshops and educational sessions designed to support and encourage women working in arboriculture.
“Hosting WAO TreeFest is an incredible opportunity to showcase our urban forest and welcome visitors to our community,” says Mayor Richard Norcross. “It strengthens our commitment to environmental stewardship while supporting women in a dynamic and growing industry.”
The event will also include a tree planting initiative aimed at helping restore areas affected by Emerald Ash Borer and supporting natural regeneration within the conservation area.
Town officials say the event is also expected to provide an economic boost by attracting participants and volunteers who will visit local businesses throughout the weekend.
