A 29-year-old Barrie driver is facing stunt driving charges after being caught travelling at double the posted speed limit in Essa Township.
The Nottawasaga OPP Traffic Unit was conducting patrols on the 8th Line of Essa, south of County Road 21, when officers stopped a vehicle travelling 120 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.
As a result, the driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days under Ontario’s stunt driving legislation.
The driver, a 29-year-old resident of Barrie, was also issued a future court date to answer to stunt driving and speeding charges.
