Ribfest, 2018
The annual Innisfil Ribfest is set to return to Tanger Outlets Cookstown over Father’s Day weekend.
The 8th annual event, presented by Gelateria Italiana and produced by Ontario Festival Group, will feature some of North America’s top barbecue teams serving smoked ribs, pulled pork, brisket, chicken, sausage and beef ribs.
In addition to the barbecue offerings, visitors can enjoy a variety of festival food vendors, a licensed area, live music performances, a kids zone, face painting, local artisans and a marketplace throughout the weekend.
Organizers say the event is pet-friendly and will include free parking and live concerts with admission. Tickets are $5 per person, while children aged 10 and under can attend free of charge.
A special community fundraiser will also take place on Saturday, June 20th. The “Splash for Stevenson” dunk tank fundraiser will support the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, giving attendees the opportunity to dunk local community members while raising money for healthcare initiatives.
Limited-edition fundraiser T-shirts featuring the “Splash for Stevenson” design will be available for purchase on-site, with proceeds supporting the hospital foundation.
Organizers are also continuing efforts to reduce waste by eliminating single-use plastics at the event. Visitors are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, which can be refilled free of charge at water stations throughout the festival grounds.
Innisfil Ribfest runs Friday, June 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tanger Outlets Cookstown, located at 3311 Simcoe 89 in Cookstown.
